DANA MARDAGA

Besides being the first lady President of the University Underwater Society, Dana developed the first series of t-shirts for the club. She is a very talented artist. Club members looked forward to seeing what new t-shirt design she would come up with next. During the era of "Jaws", she had a boat named "Bruce", named after the mechanical shark in the movie,  which she used to ferry divers around Lake Travis. Dana now works for a large advertising firm in California as a designer and illustrator. She loves drawing various creatures of nature.

An exciting moment for her was when she spotted a tourist in Belize wearing one of her Texas shirts. Dana still scuba dives and looks forward to going on diving vacations. She continues to be associated with the University Scuba Club and keenly follows the club's progress. Dana was gracious enough to gather her t-shirt designs for the club and re-assemble them for our history of the early years of the diving club. Below are the designs and the years that the club's first t-shirts were produced by Dana.
